Bolotbek Mambetov — Portrait Artist and Master of Expressive Realism

Bolotbek Mambetov is an accomplished portrait artist originally from Kyrgyzstan, now living and working in Antalya, Turkey. He is known for his emotionally resonant portraits and evocative paintings that combine refined technique, keen observation, and deep sensitivity. His distinctive focus on the eyes — the window to the soul — has become a hallmark of his style, recognized and appreciated by collectors worldwide.

Mambetov received formal artistic training in both Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and also studied choreography. His background in dance influences the elegance and subtle movement captured in his paintings, particularly in his striking images of ballerinas. These works are not mere depictions of dance, but visual metaphors of strength, fragility, and inner discipline.

He works in various mediums, with a particular mastery of the dry brush technique on canvas. His black-and-white portraits are known for their depth and delicacy, while his color works are celebrated for their vibrancy and lifelike presence. Mambetov creates both commissioned portraits and original works, often painting horses — a subject he approaches with passion and personal insight.

Over more than 25 years of artistic practice, Bolotbek Mambetov has completed hundreds of commissions, and his paintings are held in private collections across Europe, the United States, Turkey, the Middle East, and throughout the CIS. He continues to paint actively, exhibit his work, and accept commissions from around the world.
